What Is Taiwan Milk Oolong Tea?

Taiwan Milk Oolong is also called "Jin Xuan Oolong" by the locals.

The name Milk Oolong was given due to the unique milky flavour from the best loose tea leaves of its kind.

Jin Xuan Oolong tea plants are widely grown throughout Taiwan, with most specialised Milk Oolong farms located above 1000 m in altitude, in Chiayi and Nantou Counties, of central Taiwan.

Beware that some imitators do use milk additives to enhance the milky flavour.

We only source premium Milk Oolong loose leaf tea from Nantou to make sure you get the most authentic tea experience.

The unique milky flavour makes Taiwan Milk Oolong very popular among female tea drinkers.

How Do You Spot Fake Jin Xuan Milk Oolong?

Artificial flavours give the tea leaves a sharp, pungent, unnatural scent.

Make sure you only buy Oolong teas from reputable suppliers to get the best tea drinking experience.

A fun creamy flavor

The "milky" flavor comes out on the second steeping, a creamy lingering flavor that has a thick mouthfeel. It is a fun tea to play with, finding your own balance for creamy and oolongness.

Nice subtle taste

A fantastic tea. Subtle buttery flavor, but not oppressive like the faked milk oolongs. Handled a high heat brew with no bitterness whatsoever!

I like it

I've had both the flavored and non-flavored version now and am surprised that I enjoyed both very much. While the flavored one had a more prominent milky, creamy taste, this one had a stronger base oolong flavor.
