Bold unique Oolong

Got a sample of this tea, and others. After all the samples were gone, this is one that I kept thinking about. Bold, not bitter, unique flavor through many gongfu infusions.

What Is Taiwan Black Oolong Tea?

Is it Black Tea?

Or is it Oolong Tea?

Well, it's both.

Black Oolong Tea is grown from Oolong tea plants and goes through a secret roasting recipe to give it the aroma and taste commonly found in Black Teas.

The best tea leaves are grown above 500 m in elevation, and machine picked from an environmentally friendly tea farm.

Despite being a machine harvested tea, the loose tea leaves have almost no twigs in the packaging.

This is because the loose leaves pass through the twig screener multiple times before further processing.

This way, you get more tea from the same package than you do from other machine harvested teas.

Tasting Notes

Taiwan Black Oolong Tea has the bold flavour of Black Tea, but retains the smooth, fresh taste found in Oolong.

The bolder flavour works well with milk, sugar and other creative recipes.

How to Steep

Use 6 ounces of water (177 ml) with 2 teaspoons of loose tea leaves (2-3 grams).

Heat the water to 195 degrees Fahrenheit (91 degrees Celsius).

Steep for 3-4 minutes.

How to Cold Steep

Use 6 ounces of water (177 ml) with 2 teaspoons of loose tea leaves (2-3 grams).

Use room temperature water.

Steep for 6-8 hours in a fridge at 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius).
