What Is Taiwan Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea?

The name "Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea" was rumoured to be coined by Queen Victoria, for the distinct golden orange brew that seems like dancing beauties, when British merchants first brought the tea to Britain.

To grow tea leaves fit for Oriental Beauty Oolong, farms have to be completely free from pesticides to attract tea green leafhoppers that nibble on the leaves.

The bitten leaves then oxidise and produce the sweet, honey-like taste.

The presence of leafhoppers also causes the tea buds to turn white, leading to the other common names as "Bai Hao Oolong", "White Tip Oolong", and "Champagne Oolong".
